A new study suggests that when you exercise may be just as important as how often. Research presented at the American College of Cardiology’s annual meeting found that physical activity between 7 and 8 a.m. is associated with significantly lower risks of heart disease and metabolic conditions.
Tracking nearly 15,000 participants using wearable fitness data, researchers observed that morning exercisers had reduced rates of coronary artery disease, high blood pressure, Type 2 diabetes, and obesity. The findings, while not proving causation, remained consistent regardless of total activity levels.
Experts believe the benefits may be tied to the body’s circadian rhythm, with early-morning hormone levels priming the body for movement. Read more at AOL.
