But a&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/theconversation.com\/does-exercise-really-work-for-osteoarthritis-276058\">recent review reported by&nbsp;<em>The Conversation<\/em><\/a>&nbsp;suggests its benefits may be smaller than once believed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The analysis of more than 130 studies found exercise reduced pain modestly \u2014 about 6 to 12 points on a 100-point scale \u2014 and did not dramatically improve joint function. However, it proved as effective as anti-inflammatory drugs and steroid injections, without the side effects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Experts caution the findings may underestimate exercise\u2019s value, as the review grouped all activity types together and mostly examined short-term programs.
