{"id":635,"date":"2018-02-03T01:44:12","date_gmt":"2018-02-03T01:44:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/alternativemedicine.today\/?p=635"},"modified":"2018-02-08T01:45:54","modified_gmt":"2018-02-08T01:45:54","slug":"exercise-more-in-2018-it-really-is-good-for-your-heart","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alternativemedicine.today\/?p=635","title":{"rendered":"Exercise more in 2018 \u2013 It really Is Good For Your Heart"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span>With 2018 stretching out before us, shining with promise, many of us have made resolutions to be more active.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Does exercise cause heart disease?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>During 2017, three studies came out suggesting that exercise may actually cause heart disease, as older athletes had more atherosclerotic plaques (a build-up of fat in your artery that can lead to a blockage) than people who didn\u2019t exercise.<\/p>\n<p>These athletes weren\u2019t ultramarathoners either. On average they exercised 45 to 60 minutes per day \u2014 an amount that many people are already doing and only three times more than the World Health Organization\u2019s physical activity guidelines (150 minutes of moderate activity per week).<\/p>\n<p><strong>A different type of plaque<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The studies were also observational, meaning that they were not designed to see if exercise causes plaques. They only compared plaques in those who exercise with those who do not.
