Tiny Bouts of Exercise Can Be Just as Effective as Longer Workouts

Can’t find half an hour for a workout? Research shows you may not need it. Studies suggest short bursts of exercise—sometimes in as little as three minutes a day—can offer many of the same health benefits as traditional longer sessions. These “exercise snacks,” such as quick sprints or brisk activity, have been linked to improved cardiovascular fitness, lower blood pressure, and even reduced cholesterol.

The key, however, is intensity. The shorter the workout, the harder you need to push to get results. While longer sessions are still important for endurance training or mental health benefits, breaking movement into smaller chunks makes fitness more accessible for busy lifestyles.
