Stroke warning: Overdosing on Supplement Could Cause Brain Bleeding

SUPPLEMENTS are widely used to boost a healthy diet, and vitamin E is often taken for its antioxidant benefits. However, in excess, it can lead to a hemorrhagic stroke.

Vitamin E is essential for maintaining healthy skin and eyes, and for strengthening the immune system, according to the NHS.

However, some people may be deficient and need to take supplements.

This could be because they have a rare inherited condition called abetalipoproteinemia which prevents the body from absorbing certain dietary fats and the vitamins they contain.

According to the National Organisation for Rare Disorders, symptoms include muscle weakness, problems with vision and slurring of speech.
