A new review published in the International Journal of General Medicine highlights how acupuncture may help reduce allergic diseases by targeting mast cells and the inflammatory responses they trigger. The analysis examined 365 studies published between 2010 and 2025, revealing that acupuncture can lower histamine and IgE levels while suppressing inflammatory pathways such as NF-κB and MAPK. These effects reportedly alleviate conditions like asthma, allergic rhinitis, and atopic dermatitis. Researchers suggest that by rebalancing immune responses and reducing cell inflammation, acupuncture could serve as a safe complementary therapy for allergy management.
