Garmin is expanding its fitness ecosystem with a new nutrition tracking feature included in its Connect+ subscription, priced at $6.99 per month. Announced during CES 2026, the update allows users to log meals by snapping a photo, with the app identifying foods and syncing calorie targets based on personal activity data.
The upgrade positions Garmin Connect+ as a more comprehensive health platform, potentially replacing third-party nutrition apps such as MyFitnessPal or Cronometer. While users can still sync external services, Garmin now requires a single source for nutrition data. The feature also integrates with newer watches and older models via a ConnectIQ app.
