Lucknow Students Dive Into Holistic Wellness With Water-Based Yoga

In a unique initiative blending tradition and innovation, 15 students from Lucknow University’s Department of Yoga and Alternative Medicine, in collaboration with KGMU, held a Plavini Pranayama session in a swimming pool on Monday. The session showcased water-based yoga, where participants practiced breathing techniques and ‘asanas’ in water to enhance flexibility, calm the mind, and strengthen the nervous system.

RAS Kushwaha, Dean of Student Welfare at KGMU, emphasized that “daily yoga is not just a practice but a pathway to holistic well-being; it nurtures both the body and the mind.” Amarjeet Yadav, faculty coordinator, highlighted the benefits of integrating pranayama with aquatic yoga postures. Student Rona Hemwani demonstrated various techniques, underscoring yoga’s potential to promote overall wellness.
